Carpinteria Seal Sanctuary Overlook

Seals

This overlook is a few miles south of Santa Barbara and provides great views of large numbers of harbor seals from within the Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve (via one mile round trip trail).  In my pic it looks like a few of them are actually posing for the camera!

Santa Barbara Mission

The Santa Barbara Mission was the tenth of twenty-one California Missions founded by the Spanish Franciscans, and was established on the Feast of Saint Barbara, December 4, 1786.  The present building was dedicated in 1820 and still functions as a church today.
