Merry Christmas 2016

As you can see from my pic of the clock at Disneyland that tells you how many days left until Christmas, it’s now down to zero. Merry Christmas! Have a great one!

The Christmas Fantasy Parade at Disneyland is a great reason to go visit during the holiday season.

As I write this in early December it’s now “desert season” when the temperatures have fallen to the comfortable range and one can go out and enjoy beautiful terrain like that shown in this pic from Joshua Tree National Park. Go explore!

Among the many things decorated at Christmas at Disneyland is the “It’s A Small World” attraction. Very pretty indeed!

A couple of days ago I went to Sea World in San Diego for the first time since 1973, and enjoyed the experience very much. The crowd was small, the shows entertaining, and the Christmas lights were all aglow. Nothing says Christmas like a well decorated palm tree! I’m just glad I didn’t have to string those lights!

One of the many beautiful artworks at Hearst Castle (near San Simeon) is this angel statue. Awesome views of the coast from this vantage point also.

This view of the San Pasqual Valley with its colorful citrus groves was taken about a third of the way up the Clevenger Canyon North trail. The trail takes off from Highway 78 about 5 miles east of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The trail is an out and back of about 5 miles with 1400-1600 feet of elevation gain. My quads and knees got a good workout!

This view of the Coronado Bridge in San Diego (with part of the USS Midway peeking out) was taken from the 1914 Pilot Boat that tours San Diego Bay from the Maritime Museum . The 2.1 mile long bridge was opened in 1969 during the 200th anniversary of the founding of San Diego. Its 27 concrete girders made it the longest ever at the time of its construction.

This pic was taken a little southeast of Mountain Center before the turnoff to Lake Hemet on the Pines to Palms Highway (Hwy 74). I love this terrain!

Love the fog/clouds hanging out between all the peaks in this pic from the top of Iron Mountain in Poway.
